Whittier, CA - On November 4, 2010 at approximately 1:50pm, Whittier PD Parking Enforcement Officers found a vehicle parked in the 6700 block of Bright Ave., with expired registration in excess of six months. While filling out the necessary paperwork to impound the vehicle, the owner approached the parking enforcement officers and refused to let them impound his vehicle. After arguing with the officers, the owner gets into the driver seat of his vehicle, starts it and turned his wheels towards them. He eventually drove his vehicle forward and comes within inches of striking one of the officers. Whittier PD Patrol Officers are called to the scene and the suspect was taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon.
