Gun Toting Criminal Behind Bars

A Whittier Field Training Officer (FTO) was patrolling in the area of Greenleaf Ave. and Walnut Street with one of Whittier's newest Police Officers when they noticed a suspicious person loitering in the area. When they contacted the subject he became extremely nervous and admitted to being in possession of a methamphetamine pipe. The FTO then handcuffed the subject and searched him incident to arrest. During the search the FTO located a very clean .38 caliber handgun in the arrestee's waistband, with a laser attached to it . The arrestee, who was later identified as Joseph Castellanos (06-14-86), has an extensive arrest history for robbery, narcotics, brandishing weapons, and criminal threats. A great arrest!
