Four Arrested in Connection to Skate Shop Burglary

On September 17, 2007 in connection to the burglaries of the store Two Felons Skate Shop, located at 14125 Lambert Road in the city of Whittier. The skate shop had been burglarized on three occasions in the last month. The latest burglary occurred at approximately two o’clock this morning. The officers were dispatched to the business after the burglary alarm had been activated. Once the officers arrived, it was determined that the business had once again been burglarized and items had been taken.

A short time later, Whittier Police officers patrolling the City of Santa Fe Springs, were dispatched to the area of Shoemaker Ave. and Sandoval St., in regards to suspicious activity occurring behind a business. A witness saw four people near a blue Chevrolet Tahoe, acting suspicious. As officers arrived, three suspects ran away from the Tahoe, and the fourth drove away. The three suspects that ran were taken into custody after the officers established a containment. Two of the suspects taken into custody were juveniles who are 16 and 17 years of age. One juvenile resides in the City of Paramount, and the other in the City of Whittier. The third suspect is 18 year-old Jason Navarro, of Paramount.

Officers obtained the license plate of the vehicle that had fled. They followed up the investigation by going to the address on the registered owner of the vehicle. Officers made the arrest of the fourth juvenile suspect at his home in the City of Paramount. Officers and detectives were able to recover a large quantity of apparel, skateboards, and backpacks from his home and car.

All four suspects were booked for burglary at the Whittier Police Department jail. An ongoing investigation is continuing to determine the involvement of all four suspects with similar burglaries that occured in the city of La Habra and Garden Grove.
