On November 30, 2007 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Whittier Police Department officers were dispatched to a stabbing that had occurred in the parking lot of the Slam Dunk located at 14226 Whittier Blvd. Upon the officers arrival, they found a 34-year-old Hispanic male suffering from stab wounds. Los Angeles County Fire Department and Paramedics also responded, and pronounced the Whittier resident dead at the scene.
Previous to stabbing, the victim had a verbal altercation with two patrons inside the bar. The two suspects and the victim walked outside of the bar, and a physical altercation began. One of the suspects stabbed the victim numerous times throughout his body while the other suspect kicked the victim. The suspects drove away in unknown direction, as the victim walked back inside the bar to ask for help. The victim collapsed a short time later.
The suspects are described as male Hispanics, both with shaved heads, one possibly in his fifties and the other in his twenties. They drove away in a light color, older model, Chevrolet El Camino.
