Pit bull Shot After Attacking Owner

Police officers shot and killed a pit bull Saturday after the dog mauled its owner, officials said. The incident occurred about 1:15 p.m. on Court Avenue.

Officers responding to a call of a dog attack found a pit bull running loose, police said. When police tried to trap the dog, the pit bull lashed out and charged at one of the officers, forcing them to shoot, officials said.
