On June 21, 2008 at 11pm officers attempted to question a suspicious person who was looking into back yards in the area of Broadway and Gretna. When the suspect saw the officers, he ran away and a short foot pursuit ensued. Officers were able to catch up to and detain the suspect. It was discovered that he had an outstanding warrant. He was taken into custody and booked at the Whittier Police Department Jail.
