On May 16, 2009 at 5:30pm, Whittier Police Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 6300 block of Milton Avenue. When officers arrived on scene they located a victim who was later identified as Danny Quijada. He had sustained several gunshot wounds, and shortly thereafter was pronounced dead at the scene. Following a lengthy and rigorous investigation, covering several counties and the service of numerous search warrants, Whittier PD Investigators filed murder charges with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Brandon John Valdez (12-2-1985). Valdez is a known Whittier Vario Locos gang member and is currently in custody on an unrelated charge. His bail is set at two million dollars.
