Whittier, CA - August 17, 2010, 11:36pm, Whittier PD Officers responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the intersection at Lambert Rd. and Santa Fe Springs Rd. When officers arrived on scene they found the male pedestrian lying in the roadway near the intersection. According to witnesses, the victim crossed Santa Fe Springs Rd. against the signal and was struck by a vehicle who was traveling northbound. The victim was transported to County USC Hospital and succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.
The victim is only described as a male in his early 60's.
