Robbery Suspects In Custody

Whittier, CA - On September 19, 2010 at approximately 9:00pm, two suspects entered the Mobil gas station located at 11253 Whittier Blvd and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. The suspects fled the gas station in a brown Pontiac Grand Am with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A gas station employee chased the suspects to a home in South El Monte while and called the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Whittier PD Officers responded to the home in El Monte and conducted a search of the area with the assistance of LA County Sheriff's personnel. Following several hours of searching, three suspects were located hiding in a construction equipment yard nearby and taken into custody.

Arrested were: Shorard Howell, 25 years old, of Los Angeles, Crayton, Jeffrey, 40 years old, of Los Angeles and Robert Spells, 25 years old, of Los Angeles
