Whittier - On Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at 3:05 p.m., officers responded to a call of a traffic collision in the area of Whittier Blvd. and Penn Street. The victim’s vehicle was traveling west bound on Whittier Blvd. when it was side swiped by the suspect’s vehicle. Upon impact the victim’s sports utility vehicle veered into the opposite lanes of traffic, causing it to spin out of control and flip onto its driver side. The vehicle came to rest along the south curb of Whittier Blvd.
The male driver was partially ejected and the female passenger remained in the car. The Los Angeles County Fire Department used a hydraulic system to remove the pinned driver from underneath the vehicle. The male and female victims were air lifted to the Los Angeles County USC Medical Center and are currently in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a fair skin man, driving a grey sport utility vehicle. The suspect’s vehicle may have sustained damage to the front or driver side.
