On August 21, 2007 at 1:10 p.m., two armed men entered Murray Brown Jewelry store located at 15334 Whittier Blvd., and proceeded to rob the store owner and a costumer of jewelry and money.
Prior to the robbery, a female suspect had entered the store and held the front door open allowing the two masked men to enter the business without having to be buzzed in by the store owner. The female suspect ran out of the business as the two men entered the store. Once the suspects were inside they displayed handguns and ordered the store owner to the back of the store. The suspects used the store owner’s keys to remove the merchandise from the display counters. The total amount of money and jewelry taken at this time has not been determined.
The two suspects are described as male African Americans approximately five eleven to six feet tall with slim build. Both suspects appeared to be in their late twenties or early thirties and wore white shirts and dark blue jeans. The female suspect is described as African American approximately five feet five inches tall with a slim build. All suspects were last seen leaving southbound on Scott Ave. in a black Chevrolet HHR.
