Auto Theft And Burglary In Friendly Hills

On April 5th, 2007 at 4:20 a.m. officers responded to 8800 block of Lindante regarding a auto theft investigation. While the officer was taking the report he saw a vehicle blacked out approaching him from the North. The vehicle pulled into a driveway at 8744 Lindante. A Sergeant arrived into the area and the officer asked the Sergeant to check on the vehicle. The vehicle was determined to be the stolen vehicle. The dispatch operator advised of a subject possibly casing for a burglary on Aurora Crest. Aurrora Crest is a gated community at the dead end of Mar Vista. Responding officers to Aurora Crest described the suspect as a male white in his 30’s wearing a beanie with “security” embroidered on the front. Officers checked the backyard of the residence where the vehicle was parked. In the backyard of the residence they located the beanie, gloves, and a garage door opener from a victim's vehicle on Aurora Crest. Officers found additional property in the stolen vehicle belonging to the victim on Aurora Crest. The residence on Lindante where the car was left backs up to the Friendly Hills Golf Course. It was determined that the suspect most likely fled into the golf course. At approximately 6:45am hours the Sergeant located a female walking in the area of Youngwood and Lindante. He made contact with her and it was determined that she is on felony probation for theft and is in possession of drug paraphernalia. She began to make statements tying her to the stolen vehicle and auto burglary incidents. She stated she was with a male suspect and admitted to being in the golf course. The female was uncooperative in providing information in regards to her partner in crime. Officers transported her to jail.
