Short Pursuit Of Two Suspects

On April 8th, 2007 at 11:07 pm, an officer and his trainee attempted to stop two gang-types in a tinted Chevy Metro as it left the Guesthouse on Whittier Boulevard. When they caught up to the vehicle, the suspects evaded them and a short pursuit ensued at speeds of 30 mph with no traffic reported. The vehicle came to a stop at 10050 block Obregon Ave., when officers saw the passenger throw an object out of the window before both suspects fled on foot. The object turned out to be a stolen .38 caliber revolver. A perimeter was set up and Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department Air 24 assisted in the search. The suspects were not located, however ammunition and narcotics materials were found in the vehicle. After the suspects fled, the vehicle rolled forward at low speed and struck a chain link fence of a residence. A follow up investigation in order to determine the identity of the suspects was conducted.
