Police Seek Robbery Suspect
The Whittier Police Department is seeking a robbery suspect after he fled from the Community Bank located at 12215 Telegraph Road. At 12:15pm on September 15th, the suspect entered the bank and approached the teller. He told her "this is a robbery" and demanded money or he was going to “cap” her. The teller retrieved approximately $2500 in cash, which also included an explosive dye pack. The suspect exited the bank and then took the bridge southwest over Norwalk and Telegraph. The area was searched, but no suspect or dye pack was located. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic in his 30’s with a goatee, black LA Dodger ball cap worn to the front, white t-shirt, baggy beige colored shorts, white socks pulled up to his knees, and tattoos to the back of his neck and left wrist.
