Fireworks Seizure

On May 14th, 2007 at 4:15Pm, the Whittier Police Detectives conducted a search of a storage bin at the Mini U Storage located at 10231 S. Colima Rd. During the search of the bin detectives discovered approximately 150 pounds of illegal fireworks. Detectives had acted on a tip of illegal fireworks being stored at the location . With the help of Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department arson and explosive sergeant, a trained dog was used to detect the location of the explosive material. Various types of fireworks were seized and a suspect is yet to be arrested. The police will maintain a "Zero Tolerance" for the upcoming holidays.
