Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Whittier

On May 19th, 2007, at approximately 11:17 p.m. An officer observed a1993 green Acura Integra traveling at high rate of speed in the area of Whittier Blvd. and Glengarry Ave. The officer attempted to stop the car which had been stolen from 6700 block of Greenleaf Ave. on May 18th, but the driver continued to evade the officer and a short pursuit ensued. The car came to stop in the area 10400 Bexley St., and both of the occupants got out of the car and fled from the officer on foot.

The two suspects continued running in the area of Bexley St. and the 605 FWY. and a perimeter was established by Whittier Police Officers. The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department helicopter was overhead assisting with the search of dense vegetation along the freeway. Two suspects were located in the area. An 18 year old male and male juvenile both residents of Whittier, were arrested on unrelated charges. No formal charges have been filed on either two of the suspects at this time.
