On August 13, 2008 at 10:40pm, Officers received a Lojack activation for a stolen vehicle in the area of Whittier Boulevard and Calmada Avenue. The Lojack information detailed a 2008 Nissan Maxima. Officers began to hone down the Lojack signal and were able to locate the vehicle as it entered the Best Whittier Inn. Just as officers arrived, the observed a suspect exit the vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident and the vehicle was returned to the owner. Castellano, Joseph (DOB: 6/14/86), who is on parole, from Whittier was arrested for auto theft and parole violation.
