Robbery Leads to Short Kidnapping

On January 9th at 12:40 pm, Whittier Police Officers patrolling Santa Fe Springs were called to an armed robbery incident at 13700 Milroy Place. The robbery and kidnap occurred to a catering truck and its employees (husband and wife team). According to the victim, he saw suspects 1 and 2 walk up to the catering truck and inquire about a job. Then, according to the victim, suspect 1 entered the catering truck and brandished a stainless or chrome semi-automatic hand gun, as did suspect 2. Suspect 1 then ordered both victims to the floor and restrained the victims with their hands behind their backs using electrical tape. Demanding money, suspect one would ultimately retrieve approximately $2000.00 in U.S. currency from the victim's pocket. According to the victims, both suspects ordered them to stay on the floor while they drove the catering truck from the above location to another location on Marquardt, south of Milroy Place.

Both suspects exited the catering truck and fled the location in an unknown direction. Prior to leaving however, suspect 1 took the cash register as well. Both victims were from Cerritos and were husband and wife. They were 43 years old and 46 years old, respectively. Neither victim was injured as a result of this robbery/kidnap.

Suspect 1 was described as a male Hispanic, 20 years old, 5’06”, 200 lbs, and was wearing a white long sleeve shirt and blue jeans. Suspect 1 was clean shaven and had short hair. Suspect 2 was described as a male Hispanic about 20-25 years old wearing a long sleeve blue shirt and Levi shorts, 5’6”, and 225 pounds. Suspect 2 was also described as clean shaven with short hair.
