Santa Fe Springs, CA - On July 1, 2009 at 11:21pm, Whittier PD officers assigned to Santa Fe Springs responded to a "fight" call at the Embers Lounge, located at 11332 Washington Blvd. The victims, a 31 year-old male and 35 year-old female were assaulted after an argument over a game of pool. When officers arrive at the bar, they detain one suspect in a vehicle attempting to flee the area. The vehicle was occupied by the male suspect who assaulted the male victim by kicking him the face. The suspect who assaulted the female was not identified and no longer on scene. Both victims sustained significant facial injuries, but refused to be transported by paramedics. They were treated at the scene and released.
Arrested: Joesph Urias (04-07-75), a resident of Whittier.
