Parolee In Custody

On July 15th at 1:00pm, the Whittier Police Department's Special Enforcement Team arrived in the 15400 block of Fernview Street in Whittier in search for a parolee at large. As the parolee left the area by vehicle, the officer's conducted a traffic stop and eventually searched the man's home, finding various weapons. The parolee, Shayne Romero (DOB 12/8/86) of Whittier was arrested and placed in handcuffs in the back of the police car. When an officer re-approached the vehicle to move it, he heard a loud bang and saw the rear window had been kicked out and the suspect had fled on foot. A foot pursuit occurred and eventually Romero was caught and taken back into custody.
