Chief David Singer named Honorary Fellow of Rio Hondo College

Police Chief David Singer, of the Whittier Police Department, will be awarded the prestigious title of “Honorary Fellow” in a commencement ceremony to be held at Rio Hondo College on May 25, 2006 at six o’ clock in the evening. Donning a cap and gown, Chief Singer will be awarded the title as a result of the Board of Trustees’ vote to honor individuals they feel have had an impact on the college in a variety of ways. Chief Singer was praised for his many contributions to the college including his continued efforts to identify and pursue federal and state resource opportunities for a variety of public safety programs. Chief Singer was also praised for his leadership as Chairman of the Police Academy Advisory Board.
