IPOD Thieves in Custody

Whittier Police Officers, through swift and investigative policework, arrested a male juvenile and his brother for the theft of an Apple IPOD. On Monday (05/29/06) at approximately 11:00am, a male juvenile entered the Radio Shack at 11863 Whittier Blvd., and quickly grabbed an IPOD on display. The juvenile then fled from the business in a vehicle. Witnesses at the scene were able to give police the license plate of the vehicle and officers used the information to locate the registered owner of the car. Arriving at the home, officers saw the same vehicle that had been described by witnesses at the scene. Ultimately, the registered owner of the car admitted to being the "get-away driver," and told police his brother had stolen the IPOD. A short time later, the suspect turned himself in at the Whittier Police Department. Both were charged with burglary.
