Fatal Traffic Collision

Santa Fe Springs, CA - The Whittier Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred at 4:20 PM to the front of 11221 Washington Blvd. According to witnesses at the scene, a solo motorcyclist was seen riding a wheelie while traveling westbound on Washington Blvd., just east of Norwalk Blvd. When the motorcyclist set the front wheel down, he lost control of the motorcycle and begin sliding on the asphalt. As the motorcyclist continued to slide, he collided with a stopped vehicle in front of him and suffered severe head trauma. Even though the motorcyclist was wearing his helmet, he was later pronounced dead at a local trauma center.

The victim of this tragic accident was identified as Joseph Pacillas, a 24 year-old resident of Montebello.
