On June 12,2006 at 0846 hrs., the Whittier Police Department was called to handle a dead body investigation off the 5 freeway. The preliminary investigation indicates that the person is a male Hispanic in his mid-forties. A motorist driving along the 5 freeway first observed the man and called the California Highway Patrol. The area where the body was found is in the jurisdiction of the Whittier Police Department, which patrols the City of Santa Fe Springs. The Los Angeles County Coroners Office will determine the cause of death.
