On June 24, 2006 at 11pm Whittier police officers observed a vehicle parked among trucks at a trucking company in the 8900 block of Sorenson. Upon further investigation, officers detained a suspect and located truck wheels in the suspect's vehicle. The wheels had just been removed from a company truck and the suspect was about to leave the location. Officers also conducted a search at the suspect's residence in Compton and located additional truck wheels, which were taken from the same location. The wheels were valued at over $2000.
