Juvenile Goes for Joyride

Santa Fe Springs - A young female juvenile decided to take her mothers car without permission on Thursday at 2:17 pm and "joyride" throughout the city. While driving on Florence Avenue, she struck a van and began to flee from the scene. As a result the driver of the van began to follow her as she reached high speeds attempting to out-run him. Ultimately, she would lose control of her vehicle while attempting to navigate a right turn at approximately 60 mph. While skidding, she struck two additional cars, drove over fire hydrant, and came to rest in a courtyard at Telegraph and Pioneer. She was then transported to St. Francis Medical Center for her injuries and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days. While her mother was notified, the juvenile was not arrested due to her injuries.
