The Whittier Police Department responded to a high volume of calls for service on the 4th of July. A majority of the calls involved loud parties, fireworks, fights, and intoxicated subjects.

Too bad people who can read cannot understand that using fireworks is illegal in the beautiful City of Whittier and has caused so much chaos for owners of pets.
Neighbours behind used fireworks till 1:45 am this morning and adult neighbours (one who is a legal aid and the other a security officer in a educational institution) in front of my house is having 'blast'.
Would hate to call you guys for something this trivial but still they should know it is illegal.
Again, thank you for keeping my children, my community safe.
All of you are doing a tremendous job in law enforcement.
