On July 16, 2008 at 3:30 am, a patrol officer ran a license plate check on a white Pontiac Grand Am, which was driving in the 11900 block of Washington Boulevard. The plate check indicated that the vehicle was stolen. When backup officers arrived in the area, a traffic stop was initiated and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The vehicle was stolen in Los Angeles. Pedro Cibrian (DOB 6-29-66) from Long Beach was booked for vehicle theft in the Whittier Police Jail. Stolen vehicles are often used by criminals to commit more serious crimes such as burglaries and drive by shootings.
