Hit and Run Suspects in Custody

On October 1st, a Whittier Police Officer, assigned to Santa Fe Springs, was dispatched to the area of Heritage Park where a witness had chased a hit and run vehicle and was detaining one of the suspects. The Officer took the passenger into custody and started looking for the driver who was located a short time later and taken into custody after he was found hiding between two electric boxes and shrubbery. The victim was able to positively identify the driver who was charged with DUI and felony hit and run. The passenger was arrested for drunk in public. Driver: Male Hispanic resident of Bell Gardens.
