Santa Fe Springs - On October 18, 2008, at approximately 12:43pm, a 14 year old female was walking in the area of Dunning Street and Pioneer Boulevard when she was approached by a vehicle. The driver, described only as an approximate 50 year old Hispanic male, driving what was described both as either a red sports car, or 1990’s model red truck with a blue tarp in the back, motioned for the juvenile to come over to the car. The juvenile, fearing for her safety, ran to a friend’s residence in the area and the vehicle drove away. She was obviously frightened by the incident, but was not physically assaulted or injured. The driver of the vehicle was unknown to the juvenile. No lewd comments were directed at her and the driver made no effort to physically assault her or place her into the car.
The Whittier Police Department is investigating. Persons having any additional information are urged to call the Police Services Center at 562 409-1850.
