Officers Assist With Birth of Child

On October 26th at 6:00am, an expectant mother was en route to Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital after beginning labor. Suddenly, the birth became imminent and the driver pulled over on Lambert Road, west of Santa Gertrudes. Three Whittier Police Officers responded and, along with the Fire Department, assisted in the delivery of a baby boy. The newborn is in excellent condition.
