Shots Fired at Steve's BBQ

On November 23rd, the Whittier Police Department received a call stating a single shot was fired inside Steve’s BBQ at 2:30am. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the restaurants owner, who said a patron was handling a gun and it discharged into the ground. As officers were speaking with the owner, the suspect (AR-Jesus Hernandez, D/B-06/16/79 who lives in La Habra) came walking out of the business and was subsequently detained. The weapon, a .38 revolver, was still in his possession while the round he discharged was lodged in the floor. No one was injured and Hernandez was charged with discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner and possession of a firearm.
