Weapon Recovered And Two In Custody After Short Pursuit

Whittier : After receiving calls from witnesses about a possible shooting near Frontier High School, Whittier officers located a vehicle matching witness descriptions leaving the scene.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, and a short pursuit ensued. During the pursuit officers observed the suspect throw a .22 caliber rifle out the window, which was recovered. The suspect vehicle was involved in a collision at the intersection of Florence and Orr and Day, in the city of Santa Fe Springs. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
Two suspects were taken into custody:
James Wall, 19 years old, Huntington Beach, CA
The second subject was a juvenile male, from Norwalk, CA.

Officers attempted to locate a victim at the original crime scene, but were unable. The investigation is ongoing.
