Vehicle Pursuit - Assault on Officers with a Deadly Weapon

On  November 15, 2008 at 4 a.m., officers were northbound Painter at Helen when they noticed a vehicle ahead of them driving in an erratic manner. When they attempted to stop it, the vehicle failed to yield and ultimately a pursuit ensued.  The pursuit terminated at the dead end of Painter north of Beverly.  The driver put the vehicle into reverse, rammed the police unit and continued accelerating until it had pushed the police unit 186 feet.  Officers were able to maneuver their vehicle so that they could not be pushed any further.  The suspects surrendered to police at that time.  Two male suspects, one 16 and the other 13, from Whittier, were arrested for auto theft.
