On December 3, 2008 at 1:20 pm, a resident in the 10800 block of E. Rose Drive entered their house and interrupted a burglary in progress. The suspect fled on foot and was chased by a neighbor for a short period of time. The suspect was lost in the area of Palm Park and the Greenway Trail. Officers arrived within minutes and surrounded the area. Using air support and ground searches, officers observed the suspect jump over fences and into several back yards until he was apprehended. Fidel Fierro, 34 years old, of Whittier was arrested for burglary.
