On Thursday December 18th, Whittier Police Officers will partner with Santa to deliver toys to children at local hospitals and the Women and Children's Crisis Center. The toy distribution is the end result of a partnership with the Salvation Army Whittier Corps. Over the last month, the police department has collected donated toys at various locations throughout the city in preparation for the distribution. The Salvation Army will also coordinate distribution of toys to families in the Whittier area.
Speaking with Santa, 911 Dispatchers learned he will arrive at the Police Station on the 18th at 0800 hours via a Harley Davidson. From the station at approximately 0830, Santa will receive a police escort to Whittier Hospital Medical Center where Police Officers will help him distribute toys before traveling to Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital to do the same. The Whittier Police Department and its Officers feel honored to help Santa with such a worthy cause.
