Subject: Local Physician Arrested on Sexual Battery Charges
Whittier, CA. – The Whittier Police Department in conjunction with the Medical Board of California, Office of Investigative Services has arrested Doctor Wazir Nadir Ali (08-21-64) of Rowland Heights on charges of sexual battery under false pretenses and penetration with a foreign object.
In March of 2007, a 20-year-old female victim was seen by Dr. Ali at Bright Medical for what was described at the time as “leg pain.” During the examination, the victim claimed Dr. Ali sexually assaulted her under the guise of a medical examination. Sometime later, a second case was reported when a female victim complained of similar conduct to Bright Medical staff. The victim of this alleged assault, a 53-year-old female, reported an occurrence date of May 2005.
The Whittier Police Department and the Medical Board of California is requesting contact by anyone who feels they may have been sexually assaulted by Dr. Ali. Detective G. Hamilton of the Whittier Police Department may be contacted at 562.945.8274 while Investigator J. Gomez of the Medical Board of California may be reached at 562.402.2780.
Dr. Ali has been charged with five (5) counts of penetration with a foreign object and one (1) count of sexual battery under false pretenses and is currently being held on $525,000 bail.
