Suspect Booked for Attempted Murder in Domestic Violence Case
On Sunday, September 7th, Officers responded to the 7300 block of Comstock Avenue at 9:42pm where a domestic dispute had just ended. During the domestic dispute, the male suspect grabbed his wife around the neck, wrapped an electrical cord around her neck and choked her. While doing this, he told her that if he could not have her, then no one could have her. As she was about to pass out, she bit his arm and was able to get away from him. She then grabbed their one year old baby and started to run out of the apartment. The suspect grabbed the baby away from her and then chased her out of the apartment. He caught her outside and, while holding the baby, punched and kicked the victim until she was unconscious. He then picked up the baby and started to run back to their apartment. He was taken into custody at the apartment. The female was injured, however she declined treatment. Daniel Aranda, 09/18/85, of Whittier was taken into custody for attempted murder.
