Machete Wielding Suspect in Custody
On September 4th, at 8:00pm, Officers were dispatched to 13944 Whittier Blvd after receiving a call of a suspect (Raul Espinoza, 12/08/60, Whittier Resident) with a machete. After arriving, it was discovered that Espinoza went to the above location where he used a machete to slice the victim’s tires and also threaten the victim, a thirty-six-year-old Whittier resident. The victim escaped and Espinoza fled the scene. Later, it was learned that Espinoza was upset with the victim because he believed the victim and Espinoza’s wife were having an affair. With the assistance of an LASO helicopter, Espinoza was located near his home in his truck. Espinoza was subsequently arrested for Terrorist Threats, Vandalism, and Brandishing a weapon.
