A 20-year-old Whittier resident was arrested on 07/06/06 at 11:00pm for possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest after a brief pursuit. After a Whittier K9 officer stopped the suspects car, the suspect fled on foot. While giving chase, the officer saw the suspect produce an object that resembled a firearm. For his own safety, the K9 was released and the suspect was knocked to the ground. The suspect was then taken into custody with only minor scrapes from the fall. The suspect was identified as Garrett Leskanie and fled due to his possession of an illegal substance.

Suspect In Custody After Pursuit
A 20-year-old Whittier resident was arrested on 07/06/06 at 11:00pm for possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest after a brief pursuit.
