Whittier, CA - On May 21, 2009 at approximately 2:24pm, A man was exiting the Circle K store at Beverly/Pickering when the suspect, a white female in her twenties, approached and asked if he could give her a ride to a vehicle which needed a jump start. He did so and drove to the 5800 block of Pickering Avenue where the suspect pointed out “her car.” The victim stopped behind the vehicle, left his car running and both he and the suspect exited it. The suspect then went back to the victim’s vehicle, jumped in the driver’s seat and attempted to get the car in gear. The victim was able to get the keys out of the ignition and a struggle ensued over them. The female got the keys back and once again attempted to get the car in gear. The victim prevailed in getting the keys again. A witness drove by and told the victim that the suspect’s alleged vehicle actually belonged to the witness. The suspect fled on foot and eventually met up with a male who had apparently been watching her from a distance. The two then fled together.
Anyone with information pertaining to this crime is urged to call the Whittier Police Department at (562)-945-8250.
