On May 6, 2009 at 2pm, a Whittier Officer attempted to stop a male on a bicycle in the 8700 block of Oceanview, who was riding against oncoming traffic. When the officer approached, the suspect picked up the bike, threw it at the officer, and began running away from the location. The Officer pursued the suspect on foot and after a struggle with the combative suspect, was able to take him into custody. The suspect ran because of outstanding warrants. Arrested was Greg Gonzales (DOB 10-17-1966).
