Joyride Leads to Arrest of Four Suspects

On May 24th at 9:00pm, a grand theft of a Nissan Pathfinder occurred from Los Nietos Park. Thirty minutes later, a shoplift burglary of beer occurred at CVS Pharmacy involving the stolen vehicle. A short time later, the suspects attempted to use the victim’s credit card at a gas station at Telegraph and Orr and Day.

After Whittier Dispatchers alerted Officers the suspects may still be in the area, an Officer began checking the area and located the vehicle with four occupants. When additional units arrived a traffic stop was initiated, however the car fled and Officers pursued it northbound on the 5 FWY. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's Air unit assisted and the suspects exited the freeway and turned down a dead end street. All four suspects were arrested at the scene without incident. Three juveniles and 1 adult (all SFS residents) were booked for various charges.
