Nightclub Shooting

Santa Fe Springs - The Whittier Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a Male Hispanic who shot a bouncer three times at "Spicy's," an adult nightclub, located at 12215 Saluson Avenue. While the nightclub was closing at 3:00am (on 08/18/06), the suspect approached the front door of the club and asked for the victim by name. As the suspect approached the door with a blue-steel gun in his right hand, he was wearing a grey-hooded sweatshirt and had his face covered with a blue bandanna. Bypassing the open front door, the shooter entered the club, located his intended victim, and began shooting with what was believed to be a 9mm. The victim, a middle-aged Hispanic male was struck three times in the chest. After shooting, the suspect fled the scene on foot along Slauson Avenue. Witnesses at the scene further described the suspect as 5'09" tall weighing 170 lbs. The victim, who was conscious and breathing, was transported to a local trauma center where he is undergoing treatment.
