Armed Suspect In Custody Uptown

On July 30, 2006 at 6:52 p.m. officers responded to a report of a suspect who pointed a handgun at people in the area of Hadley and and Whittier Boulevard. The caller provided a vehicle description and a direction of travel. Officers patrolling the uptown area located a vehicle matching the description a few minutes later in front of the Uptown Village Cinemas. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the suspect exited on foot and began to walk into the breezeway. He was taken into custody without incident and a loaded handgun carried by the suspect was recovered.
